2. Data We Collect

When you register with Offcycle, the following information is collected and stored in a serverless database provided by a backend DB provider service:

• Personal information: First name, last name, email address
• Professional information: Firm name, university, LinkedIn profile
• Preferences: Industry focus, vertical focus, investment types, fund sizes, job timeline, team hiring timeline
• Candidate requirements: Minimum years of experience, minimum deals completed, required industry experience, deal size focus, team type, company type experience

3. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used exclusively for the following purposes:

• Algorithmic Matching: Matching you with relevant networking opportunities based on your preferences and requirements
• Email Notifications: Sending you matches via email when suitable networking opportunities are identified
• Profile Verification: Cross-verifying all profiles with LinkedIn and Firm Websites to ensure authenticity and remove fake accounts

Your information is NOT shared with or sold to any third parties for marketing, advertising, or commercial purposes. We do NOT sell your data. Your information is stored securely with our database service provider and used only for the matching algorithm and operational purposes described above.

4. Data Sharing with Matches

When you are matched with another user for networking purposes, certain information may be shared between matched parties to facilitate the networking call. This includes your name, firm, and professional background and the "common ground" in deal and industry focus identified to match you. By signing up for Offcycle, you consent to this limited sharing for networking purposes.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

Your data is stored in temporary storage for a maximum of 3 months from the date of registration. After 3 months, an email will be sent to you asking if you wish to continue using the Offcycle app. If you decline your data will be automatically deleted from our systems, and you will stop receiving matches. You can request to continue having your data stored and continue receiving matches. Offcycle reserves the right to take down the app before this period if it becomes difficult or impossible to maintain. If the app is taken down all user data will be deleted.

6. Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Right to Access: You can request a copy of all data we have stored about you
• Right to Deletion: You can request immediate deletion of your profile and all associated data
• Right to Correction: You can request corrections to any inaccurate information

7. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Your data is stored securely using a serverless PostgreSQL database service provider that implements industry-standard encryption and security measures. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access is restricted to authorized personnel only.

8. Service Providers

A database service provider is used to store and process your data. The provider acts as a data processor on Offcycle's behalf and is contractually obligated to protect your data and use it only for providing database services to Offcycle. The provider does not have independent access to use your data for any other purpose.

9. Profile Verification

All profiles are cross-verified with LinkedIn to ensure authenticity. Fake profiles are identified and deleted to maintain the integrity of the networking community.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
